Mayawati owns assets worth around Rs 52 crore

Lucknow, June 25 (UNI) Diamonds are a woman's best friend and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati is no exception.

In an affidavit filed for the Legislative Council by-election, Ms Mayawati disclosed that she has diamonds and jewellery worth Rs 50,87,529.

The Bahujan Samaj Party President owns around Rs 52 crore as movable and immovable assets.

Ms Mayawati today filed the affadavit along with her nomination papers for the by-election to the state Legislative Council seat.

In her affadavit, the CM claimed that no cognisance has been taken against her in any criminal case nor she owned any vehicle in her name or has any share and bonds of any company.

According to the details of her movable and immovable assets, she has Rs 50.27 lakh in cash while Rs 12.88 crore are deposited in banks, financial institutions and non-banking financial companies.

Giving details about her jewellery, Ms Mayawati said she has Rs 50,87,529 in the form of gold, diamonds and silver. Of this, she has 1034.260 gm of gold, 76.040 gm of diamonds and 18.500 kg of silver dinner set. She also have murals worth Rs 15 lakh.

Under the immovable assets, she has three commercial and two residential buildings worth Rs 37.82 crore. She has commercial building of 3628.02 sq ft worth Rs 2.05 crore, another of 4535.02 sq ft of Rs 1.27 crore and 34,112.26 sq ft of Rs 15.50 crore, all in New Delhi.

Her two residential buildings, one of 1.08 acres worth Rs 97.42 lakh and another of 2194.4 sq yards worth Rs 18.02 crore are in Lucknow and New Delhi, respectively.
