Legislators demands 'White paper' on Land encroachment in Mysore
Bangalore, Jun 25 (UNI) Alleging that large tracts of Government land had been encroached by 'land grabbers' in Mysore, two Legislators have demanded the state government to take action to recover the valuable property and punish the guilty.
In a letter written to Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy the legislators -- Dr M P Nadagouda (JD-U) and Mukyamantri Chandru (BJP) have alleged that the land worth crore had been encroached by the 'land Mafia' in and around Mysore city.
They said that a cartel which included some high-level officials was behind the encroachment and Karnataka Lok Ayukta had also submitted a report on the issue.
The state government was also in possession of report submitted by T M Vijayabhaskar and M K Baladev Krishna committees which had confirmed the indiscriminate encroachment of valuable government land.
Demanding the state government to extend the programme of recovery of government land beyond Bangalore city, the legislators also urged the government to come out with a 'white paper' on the land grabbing incidents in the entire state.
