Integrated check posts on Indo-Nepal intl borders
Raxaul, Jun 25: The Centre has decided to set up integrated check posts on Indo-Nepal international border adjoining Bihar to expand trade between the two nations.
After inspecting the border areas, Union Home Secretary (border management) U N Panjiyar accompanied by Home department additional secretary P N Rai and Seema Suraksha Bal (SSB) here said these check posts would be constructed at an expenditure of over Rs 100 crores.
The proposed check post near Raxaul-Jogbani borders would be constructed under the border area development plans and would promote trade between the two countries.
He said laced with all modern systems and equipments, the check posts would function under a single window system.
He also said land was being acquired for construction in this regard and would function under ''land port authority''.
Mr Panjiyar said two such check posts would be constructed on the international borders adjoining Uttar Pradesh in the second phase.
