Hectic activity in trade circles as June 30 deadline nears

New Delhi, June 25 (UNI) Hectic activity was on in trade circles with the June 30 deadline for paying the conversion charges for carrying out business in residential areas, approaching.

The Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) has advised Delhi traders to pay conversion and parking charges by June 30 so as to avoid any penal action.

At the same time, CAIT sent a memorandum to Union Urban Development Minister Jaipal Reddy demanding extension of the last date for payment of the charges.

In a letter sent to Delhi Mayor Aarti Mehra, Chairman of the MCD Standing Committee, Vijender Gupta and MCD Additional Commissioner Naresh Kumar, CAIT Delhi President Ramesh Khanna and its General Secretary Narender Madan urged to set up a help centre in MCD headquarter and in all zonal offices to provide information and clarification regarding conversion charges.

They said the traders are ready to cooperate with MCD on this account.

They demanded MCD to clarify the situation in order to put an end to the confusion prevailing in Delhi Markets.
