Groom walks out of marriage on not getting mobike

Varanasi, June 25 (UNI) A groom refused to marry, after the girl's father failed to gift him the desired model of motorcycle in Sarnath area here late last night.

The marriage, however, was solemnised with another youth from the same community, police today said.

The incident took place at Baraipur village, where Gauri (20) was betrothed to Anil from Chaubeypur area of the district.

Just before 'dwarachar' -- AN initial marriage ceremony, the inebriated groom Anil told bride's father Shankar Rajbhar, that he would marry Gauri only after getting the desired model of the bike.

The bride's father promptly promised to give the desired model to Anil two days after the marriage. Angered rajbhar's response, the groom along with the marriage procession walked out from the marriage leaving the girl's family in a lurch.

Seeing the atmosphere turn gloomy, Kunwardip, a youth from the Rajbhar community proactively decided to marry Gauri, bringing smiles back on the faces of the girl's family, police added.
