DU First cut off list springs no surprises!
New Delhi, June 25 (UNI) The Delhi University (DU) tonight declared its first cut off list for admissions to various under-graduate courses this year with the cut off for almost all subjects, particularly Commerce and Economics, increasing by 1 to 2 per cent.
B.Com (Hons) and Economics (Hons) topped the list with the minimum marks for the admission increasing by at least two per cent.
Humanities also showed a marginal increase with one per cent increase in all the popular courses.
However, in Science stream the minimum marks, remained almost the same, barring a few colleges Those aspiring for the Sri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC) should have a score of 94.75 per cent for commerce students and for non commerce students, an aggregate of at least 98.75 per cent is required.
Hindu, Ramjas and Kirori Mal Colleges announced their first cut-off lists earlier today.
To get into Hindu College's most popular course-- the B.Com (Hons)-- commerce students will need to have 94.25 per cent and above marks. And non-commerce students will require to have 96.5 per cent.
In Ramjas College, students will need 93 and 95 per cent respectively for admission in the commerce stream, while in Kirori Mal, the cut off is 94 per cent.
Students' Welfare Dean S K Vij said the minimum marks had increased as the students had fared very well in the CBSE examinations.
The University this year sold 1.32 lakh forms for the 35,000 seats available for admissions.
Of the total number of forms sold, only around 92,000 were submitted.
UNI
