The doctor couple was booked under various sections, including Endangering Human Life, Concealing Evidences, Forgery, Cheating and under the Indian Medical Acts and Regulations Act.

They were arrested on the basis of a complaint lodged by the Deputy Director (Health Services), Tiruchirapalli, at the Valanadu Police Station in the district, this evening.

Police protection was given to Mathi Surgical and Maternity Hospital at Manapparai, where the school boy had performed the operation recently, sending shock waves among the public and medical fraternity.

Earlier in the day, the duo was taken into custody and detained for interrogation.

Meanwhile, a three-member team deputed by the district administration found the allegations to be true. Following this, the district administration decided to initiate three kinds of action against the couple, including filing a criminal case against them.
