'CPI will continue 'land occupation struggle' in AP'
Hyderabad, Jun 25: Communist Party of India (CPI) General Secretary A B Bardhan today said his party would continue the land occupation struggle occupying the encroached lands until the Andhra Pradesh government distributed 17 lakh acre of assigned lands to the poor.
Talking to newspersons here, Mr Bardhan said the struggle launched by the CPI would not be stopped till every poor family get agricultural land and house sites.
He demanded the Centre to depute a team to assess the damage in the state due to heavy rain. The Centre should not wait for the state report on damage, he added.
Mr Bardhan said the Centre should immediately respond to the requirements of the people suffering in the flood ravaged districts.
The government mechanism had failed in rescuing the trapped people and providing rehabilitation to the affected, he alleged.
State CPI Secretary K Narayana said the party would distribute Rs One lakh to the flood victims.
