Controversial SP MP Atiq Ahmed caged in troubles

Allahabad, June 25 (UNI) Controversial Samajwadi Party MP from Phoolpur Atiq Ahmed seems to be in trouble from all sides, with the latest being the destruction of commercial properties of his relations and friends.

Yesterday, 'MAK Tower' was demolised in Civil Lines area here on June 24. Allahabad Deveplopment Authority (ADA) is hammer demolished two upper storeys of this five-storey building alleging that its map was not passed.

This building is owned by Abbas Ahmed, said to be close to Atiq.

On June 12, an ambitious project 'Alina City' was demolished by Allahabad Development Authority (ADA).

This project was a baby of 'Saket Cooperative Residents Committee Ltd', whose secretary is Imran Ahmed -- Atiq's brother-in-law.

ADA alleged this project of 450 acres had no map and layout passed by it.

Later on June 21, a case was filed against 11 persons under charges of dacoity and others serious offences. Several of them are close to the SP leader.

Kamar Jahan of Nakhhas Kohna under Shahganj area alleged that former MLA Khalid Azim alias Ashraf wanted to own her house forcibly. Ashraf is the brother of Atiq.

Six persons had already been arrested and a hunt was on for Ashraf.

Meanwhile, Atiq said the state government was deliberately harming the interests of minorities and he would raise the issue in Parliament.
