CM directs officials to adopt innovative methods
Hyderabad, June 25 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today directed the officials to adopt innovative methods by entrusting the work to the professional agencies besides utilizing government staff to take forward the 'Bhu Bharati (Integrated Land Information System) project qualitatively.
The Chief Minister made this observation, while reviewing the progress of the project with the senior officials of revenue department here.
Emphasising on the need to speed up the pace of the work, he expressed satisfaction on the aspects like aerial photography, preparation of land parcel maps, village maps and involvement of local people in the project.
The Chief Minister directed the officials to commence "Bhu Bharati" project in five more districts in the first phase beginning with Kadapa, Kurnool, Karimnagar, Srikakulam and Nellore districts during the current financial year (2007-08).
The project in the above districts was proposed to be completed by the end of 2009.
The project was proposed to be implemented in the remaining districts also in a phased manner.
The state government had embarked on the massive programme of computerising all the old land records through a comprehensive programme called Integrated Land Information System (ILIS) under the name "Bhu Bharati".
