CII launches initiative programme for Indian Multinationals

Mumbai, June 25 (UNI) In order to promote aspiring Indian multinationals in global business arena, Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), in partnership with eminent business leaders across the country, today launched a unique initiative programme, 'India Inc. Going Global'.

A core set has also been established comprising an initial set of companies, which included Asian Paints, Bharat Forge, ICICI Bank, Infosys Technologies, Mahindra&Mahindra, McKinsey&Company and Prof. Tarun Khanna, Jorge Paulo Lemann Professor, Harvard Business School This core set will act as the governing body for running this initiative programme, under the aegis of CII.

Speaking at the occasion, Chairman CII Indian MNCs Committee&Chairman GVK Biosciences D S Brar, said ''The aim is to create an ecosystem, which can accelerate the creation of multinational corporations from India .'' He said by tapping into the 'experiential expertise' of CII members, global Indian companies, emerging multinational corporations, strategic consulting firms and knowledge partners in academia, the initiative aims to provide a forum for learning, sharing and addressing common challenges of the globalisation journey, in an actionable format.

According to CII, currently, the programme was organised into operational entities termed 'clusters,' based on functional areas or common challenges and opportunities. Each of these clusters, led by an anchor company, will co-evolve a set of services that will be of common interest to the cluster members and will be responsible for achieving their objectives.
