CCHA to file complaint against ICICI bank in HC
Hyderabad, June 25: Credit Card Holders Association's (CCHA) Andhra Pradesh President G Ramakrishna today said the Association would file a complaint with the Andhra Pradesh High Court to order a probe into the death of a man after he was allegedly confined by agents of a debt recovery firm appointed by the ICICI bank.
Talking to mediapersons here, he said, ''We will fax a complaint to Chief Justice G S Singhvi against the ICICI bank for its alleged illegal activity of appointing private firms to recover their debts.'' Mr Ramakrishna said the Association would urge Mr Singhvi to accept the complaint as a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) and order an inquiry into the alleged high-handedness of the recovery agency of the ICICI Bank, which led to the death of Y Yadaiah.
Yadaiah, a 42-year-old state government employee, died here two days ago after allegedly being confined by the agents of Elite Financial Services for repaying a loan of Rs 15,000, which he had taken from the ICICI Bank.
