UP: Car crushes 3 to death, 8 injured

Varanasi, June 25: At least three people, including a woman and her minor son, were killed and eight others grievously injured after being fatally hit by a speeding MUV at separate places in Rohania area here last night.

According to police, Arvind Keshari and his driver, both inebriated, on way to Varanasi from Allahabad, severely hit nine people on the GT road, killing a woman, her minor son and another on the spot.

The injured Ramesh Patel, Jokhu Yadav, Kripa Shankar and three unidentified were rushed to the district hospital in critical conditions.

While trying to escape, Arvind's driver lost control over the wheels and the MUV overturned. Both of them were injured critically and admitted to a private hospital.

The deceased were yet to be identified, police added.
