Call money rates ends high at 3.00-3.25 per cent
Mumbai June 25 (UNI) Call money rates bounced back today and closed at 3.00-3.25 compared to the previous close of 0.10-0.20 per cent.
During the day, it touched a high of 3.25 per cent and a low of 2.75 per cent.
There was ample liquidity in the system. New fortnightly requirements and the auctions kept the borrowings on the higher side. However, with supply exceeding the demand for funds, call rates traded easy, dealers opined.
RBI received 57 bids for Rs. 61,070 crore at the 1-day reverse repo auction, it accepted only Rs.3,000 crore. No single bid was received at the 1-day repo auction.
However, viewing the current liquidity conditions, the huge borrowings are unlikely to have any drastic impact on the call rates, dealers added.
