BMC to come out with proposal to shift buffalo farms: Phatak
Mumbai, June 25 (UNI) Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) Commissioner Jairaj Phatak today said the Corporation will soon come out with a proposal to shift the buffalo farms from city limits to its outskirts.
According to Mr Phatak, the proposal envisages 33 per cent additional floor space index and other facilities. The Corporation has earmarked Dabchari in Thane district for this purpose. However, there seems to be no taker for this proposal as the farm owners have expressed desire to shift to Panvel, rather than in Thane, as they find the proposal unattractive.
There are many farm owners in the city who occupy large chunks of BMC land. These farms, at times, come in the way of city's development specially in the widening of roads, Mr Pathak said.
He said the Corporation will soon come out with a proposal for farm owners in this regard.
