2.2 lakh new employment opportunities in current fiscal

Lucknow, June 25 (UNI) About 2.2 lakh employment opportunities will be created in the current financial year in Uttar Pradesh under the Prime Minister'S Employment Scheme and Scheme for setting up of small scale industries.

This was informed by the UP Minister of State for small scale industries Badshah Singh here today.

He said over Rs 51 crore would be spent for facilitating export of small scale industries' items during 2007-12. For the current fiscal, this figure stands at Rs 6.33 crore.

In the 11th Five Year Plan, an estimated Rs 165 crore would be incurred on various incentive schemes for the sector.

Mr Singh also apprised about the investment of Rs 14.50 crore for international 'Trade Care Centre' and upgradation of exhibition centres in the Plan.

A fund of Rs 10 crore had been set for setting up of the new exhibition centre.
