100 kg poppy husk seized, convict on parole
Phagwara, June 25 (UNI) Police recovered 100 kg of poppy husk from possession of a convicted smuggler on parole after raiding his house at the nearby Sunnra Rajputan village in the district.
Giving this information here today, Amrik Singh Chahal, Sadar police station SHO, said that the convict Satnam Singh who had already been convicted of smuggling poppy husk in Nurmahal for 10 years and was on parole, was arrested with the contraband.
The police got information that the convict was again indulging in smuggling poppy husk in and around Phagwara.
A police party led by SHO Amrik Singh and SI Baldev Singh raided his house and recovered 100 kg of poppy husk, Mr Chahal said.
