Eight intruders, soldier killed, 10 SOG men wounded in J
Srinagar, June 24 (UNI) Eight infiltrators of the Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) outfit and a soldier were killed while 11 other security personnel wounded in separate militancy-related incidents across Jammu and Kashmir overnight, officials said today.
Five Lashkar intruders and a soldier were killed while another sustained serious injuries in a fierce gun-battle in Kupwara district of north Kashmir today, a defence spokesman said.
A Pakistan-trained militant, identified as Mubarak, a resident of Baugidar, Anantnag, was apprehended during a joint operation conducted by 3 Rashtriya Rifles and the state police in Anantnag district following specific information.
An AK 47, three magazines and 70 rounds of AK ammunitions, one UBGL launcher and two UBGL grenades were seized from his possession.
