Another hot, humid day in Delhi, Mercury rises to 37.7.deg C
New Delhi, June 24 (UNI) The hot and humid weather prevailing over Delhi over the past two days continued today with the mercury rising to 37.7 degree celsius.
The rise in mercury to 37.7 degree, coupled with a high humidity of 78 per cent, left people sweltering under the Sun.
Despite Easterlies providing some coolness in the air, heat and humidity kept most Delhiites indoors during the day even as rains continued to elude the city, after a series of spells of pre-monsoon rains last weekend.
The hot conditions could prevail tomorrow with the weatherman forecasting a rise in maximum temperature to 38 degrees Relief could soon be in offing for Delhiites in the coming week with the met office saying that the monsoon is likely to arrive in the national capital as scheduled around June 29.
With the numerical Weather Prediction models suggesting formation of a fresh low pressure area over the Northwest Bay of Bengal and its neighbourhood around June 26, conditions are favourable for the onset of Southwest monsoon in Delhi at around the scheduled date, IMD Director S C Bhan said.
The met office has forecast a warm and humid day tomorrow with a partly cloudy sky in Delhi during the next 24 hours. They have also forecast a likelihood of thundry development in some areas.
