Raninder seeks time from Vigilance, apprehends more cases
Patiala, June 23 (UNI) Former Chief Minister Amarinder Singh's son and PCC general secretary Raninder Singh has sought more time from the Vigilance Bureau and expressed apprehension of police slapping ''false cases'' against him.
In a letter to Kanwarjit Singh, SSP Vigilance Bureau, Ludhiana, the copy of which was circulated among mediapersons here today, Raninder Singh expressed apprehensions that the state police was likely to implicate him in false cases on the basis of statements of a Delhi-based businessman Chetan Gupta.
He also alleged that the police had pressurised Mr Gupta to make the statements.
Raninder's counsel Jay Inder Singh yesterday appeared before the Vigilance Bureau SSP and requested for adjournment.
He also made a written representation on his behalf and his brother-in-law Raminder Singh Richi, saying that as desired on June 10, they were submitting documents demanded by the Vigilance Bureau.
The Vigilance Bureau had summoned them here along with documents of their claims made before it in the first round of questioning on June 10.
Now, they had been instructed to appear on June 26.
