Srinagar, June 23 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir State Human Rights Commission (SHRC) has directed the Director General of Police (Prison), Delhi, and Superintendent of Tihar jail to submit a report on a complaint by Anjum Zamrooda Habib, chief of a woman separatist organisation ''Muslim Khawateen Markaz (MKM)'' alleging harassments by jail officials and inmates.

Zamrooda, chief of the MKM, a constituent of breakaway Hurriyat Conference (HC) headed by Syed Ali Shah Geelani, was arrested in February 2003 under POTA at New Delhi near Pakistan embassy.

In her written complaint to chairman of the SHRC, Justice (Rtd) M Y Kawoos she alleged that head matron of the Tihar Jail was harassing her when she refused to pay Rs 20,000.

Zamrooda further said that on the directions of the head matron, the other inmates of jail number six also abused and harassed her and called her a Kashmiri terrorist.

''She is beating me everyday without any reason,'' Zamrooda wrote in a complaint to the commission adding ''I am being mentally tortured''.

She pleaded the commission to help her by taking appropriate measures for her safety as she felt a threat to her life.

Justice Kawoos, admitting the complaint, has directed the Director General Prisons Delhi and Superintendent of Tihar Jail to file a report in the case through police chief of Jammu and Kashmir.
