West African Cargo ship, crew caught mid-sea

Mangalore, June 23: Twenty four crew members of West African Cargo ship were caught in the mid-sea as their ship was struck in due to Gail and heavy rain near Taneerbhavi, near Mangalore Port last night.

The Coast Guard officials have rushed with rescue team to save the crew members since there was no hopes of saving the ship which has already started sinking.

The ship was on its return journey after unloading the cargo at New Mangalore Port when it was caught in the mid-sea and was unable to come back to the Port due bad weather.

The continuation of rainfall accompanied with heavy wind coming in the way of rescue operation.
