Walia exhorts contractors to partner in making Delhi world-class c

New Delhi, June 22 (UNI) Delhi Finance, Planning, PWD and Urban Development Minister A K Walia today exhorted contractors to work as active partners in making Delhi a world-class city before commencement of the 2010 Commonwealth Games.

Speaking at a function after being felicitated by the Builders Association of India for his outstanding contribution in initiating large number of infrastructural projects which changed the scenario of traffic in Delhi, Dr Walia called upon the contractors to develop a technology which could reduce the completion time of projects.

He said the Delhi government would initiate projects relating to housing for residents of JJ clusters and slums, which would require involvement of contractors. A number of projects relating to Commonwealth Games would also require active cooperation from the contractors.
