UPA leaders meet NDA leaders again on Presidenial nominee

New Delhi, June 21 (UNI) Leaders of the NDA and UNPA were holding talks again this evening on the candidature of President A P J Abdul Kalam for a second term.

The meeting was being held at former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee's residence.

The UNPA delegation included AIADMK chief J Jayalalitha, MDMK chief Vaiko, Mr Chandrababu Naidu and Mr Yerran Naidu (both TDP), Mr Om Prakash Chautala (INLD), Mr Thambi Durai (AIADMK) and Mr Brindawan Goswami (AGP).

The NDA leaders present at the meeting included its convenor George Fernandes, Mr L K Advani, Mrs Sushma Swaraj and Mr Jaswant Singh.

The UNPA delegation arrived at Mr Vajpayee's residence after calling on President Kalam at the Rashtrapati Bhavan.

Leaders of the NDA and UPA had inconclusive talks yesterday also on their candidate for the Presidentship.
