Robbers loot Rs 11 lakh in heart of Hardwar city

Haridwar, Jun 22 (UNI) A man was robbed of Rs 11 lakh in the most crowded area of this city this afternoon.

R K Walia, a resident of a village near Laksar in the district, was on his way to deposit the money in ICICI bank at Ranipur chowk, SP city, Jagatram Joshi and SSP V K Murgeshan told UNI.

Before depositing the money, the victim went to a sweet shop for refreshments. Two miscreants came in a car, broke open the windowpanes of Mr Walia's car and sped away with the money in the most crowded area of the city at about 1630 hrs.

The entire area has been surrounded by police to nab the culprits.
