Monsoon rains augur well for farmers in Jharkhand

Ranchi, Jun 22 (UNI) With the onset of monsoon in Jharkhand the agricultural scientists have advised the farmers to get prepared for Kharif crops.

Birsa Agriculture University's senior scientist A K Wadud told UNI today that monsoon clouds reached the state last evening and were expected to spread all over Jharkhand in next two to three days.

He felt that farmers should not delay any more in their preparation for Kharif crops.

In the next two to three days abundant rains were expected in the state which would be beneficial to the farmers, he said.

According to weathermen, rain or thunder showers are likely to occur in the next 24 hours in the city.

With pre-mosoon rains in the past few days followed by onset of monsoon clouds, temperature in the capital has gone down giving the much-needed respite to the people in the state.
