Amelioration of Addicted People Act of human welfare: LG
New Delhi, June 22 (UNI) Amelioration of addicted people is a noble act of human welfare, Delhi Lt, Governor Tejendra Khanna today said.
Addressing a delegation of children belonging to Akshardham Bal Satsang Kendra (ABSK), who recently participated in a mass awareness campaign on de-addiction organised by the ABSK Kendra, at Raj Niwas from May 25 to June 3 the Lt Governor said the children associated with the awareness drive acted as messengers of harmony and positive life.
''A life devoid of vices keeps one's conscience clear,''Mr Khanna said adding that children should be associated with similar campaigns, on otheri important social issues.
Ten children volunteers shared with Mr Khanna their experiences of the mass awareness campaign.
During this drive, 60 children from Delhi in the age group of 11-14 years reached out to 12,000 people at 14 locations of Delhi and Gurgaon of which 2,500 pledged to give up their addictions.
Also present on the occasion were Sadhus of Swaminarayan Akshardham.
