US FDA approval for Orchid's new drug

Chennai, June 21 (UNI) City-based Orchid Chemicals and Pharmaceuticals Ltd has received US FDA approval for its ANDA (Abbreviated New Drug Application) for Cefepime injection, a company release here said today The product, which got USFDA approval, was available in three dosage strengths, 500 mg/vial, one gram/vial and two grams/vial, the release said.

Cefepime injection was a life saving cephalosporin antibiotic drug used in hospital setting.

The product had recorded a sale of US Dollar 190 million over a 12-month period, the release added.
