Special drive for eradication of Kalazar in Bihar: Dr Thakur
Patna, Jun 21 (UNI) Former union health minister Dr C P Thakur today said Bihar government had decided to launch a special drive for eradication of diseases like Kalazar, Malaria and Filaria from the state.
After assuming the charge of president of Task Force constituted by the state government, Dr Thakur told media persons that sprinkling of DDT would be initiated in Patna from June 28 while next round of sprinkling would be carried out in the state capital and other parts of the state from September next.
''State government has also decided to designate a hospital in Patna for spcialised treatment of Kalazar, Malaria and Filaria, which would be of great help to under privileged section of the society,'' he added.
Other members of the task force are development commissioner, finance commissioner, rural development secretary besides the representatives of Indian Council of Medical Research, World Health Organisation and UNI
