Pratibha Patil to resign from the post of Rajasthan Governor

Jaipur, Jun 21 (UNI) Rajasthan Governor and UPA-Left nominee for the Presidential election Pratibha Patil will tender her resignation from the gubernatorial post prior to filing of her nomination papers on Saturday.

Mrs Patil has sought an appointment with President Dr APJ Abdul Kalam at the Rastrapati Bhawan to submit her papers, a Raj Bhawan spokesman said here today Meanwhile, Mrs Patil left for New Delhi this morning.

She flew for the national capital on a regular commerical flight around 1000 hours today, the spokesman said.

Prior to this, a brief ''staff get together'' was held in Raj Bhawan last evening.

Mrs Patil had taken over as Governor on November 8, 2004.
