HP Civil Supplies records Rs 138 crore rise in turnover

Shimla, June 21 (UNI) The Himachal Pradesh State Civil Supplies Corporation has achieved a record turnover of Rs 692 crore, while registering an increase of Rs 138 crore over the corresponding period last year.

State Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Minister Singhi Ram said here today that the corporation had registered a record increase of Rs 138 crore this year over the corresponding period last year.

Addressing a meeting of the Corporation Board Directors here, the minister said the state government has also made a provision of Rs 100 croreS for providing Dal Malka, Dal Chana, Urad (whole), edible oil and iodized salt to subsidized rates to the people of the state through fair price shops.

Between April to June this year, the Corporation purchased these food items at Rs 56 croreS of which, items estimated to be worth Rs 21 crores had already been sold to the ration card holders, Mr Ram said.

The Board also reviewed its performance and other activities for the current financial year.

Additional Chief Secretary Parminder Mathur was also present during the meeting.
