Haryana to ply Volvos on new inter-state routes
Chandigarh, June 21 (UNI) The Haryana Transport Department has decided to introduce more inter-state routes of Volvo buses to various destinations in view of the growing demand for such comfortable buses on these routes.
Transport Minister Randeep Singh Surjewala said the new routes on which would Volvo buses would start plying soon were Chandigarh-Amritsar-Delhi, Delhi-Amritsar-Chandigarh, Delhi-Chandigarh-Katra, Katra-Chandigarh-Delhi, Delhi-Chandigarh-Manali and Manali-Chandigarh-Delhi.
He said these routes would be operational within a month.
The Minister said the proposed inter-state services would entail plying the buses through New Delhi, Punjab, Chandigarh and Himachal Pradesh.
He said the inter-state agreements with all the neighbouring states where Haryana Roadways was operating its services were due for renewal and the process had already been started in the case of Punjab and Rajasthan.
The additional 'Saarthi' services would also be made part of the new agreements that would be entered into with the respective states, he added.
