GEB conducts raids, detects power theft of Rs 15 lakh

Surat, June 21 (UNI) The Gujarat Electricity Board (GEB) officials conducted searches at many residential and commercial establishments here in the city last evening and early today and detected power theft to the tune of Rs 15 lakh.

GEB vigilance officer N D Patel said last evening, the officials conducted raids in Amroli, Uttran, Kosad and Motavaraccha localities. Twenty-one teams were involved in these raids, he said.

Another 17 teams conducted raids this morning in the residential areas of Rander, Palanpur Patia, Navyug college area, Bhatta, Jahangirpura, Piplod, Kamrej and Udhna, he added.
