Unaccounted wealth unearthed from Medical Officer's premises

Shimoga, Karnataka, June 20 (UNI) Lok Ayukta sleuths raided the premises of Medical Officer and General Surgeon of the district hospital, Dr R N Raikar, and unearthed assets worth over Rs two crore disproportionate to his known sources of income, yesterday.

Lok Ayukta officials, based on a tip-off, conducted searches at the residence, nursing home, nursing schools and hostels owned by Dr Raikar and his family members.

During the raid, it was found that Dr Raikar possessed sites, nursing home, house, nursing schools and hostels worth over Rs 1.69 crore, moveable properties worth Rs 34,27,445, vehicles worth Rs 15 lakh and cash, gold and silver articles together worth Rs 4,81,260.
