Siddaramiah criticises govt's proposed ''Mysooru Utsav''
Mysore, June 20 (UNI) Former Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister and Congress leader Siddaramiah today strongly criticised the government's proposed ''Mysooru Utsav'' when the state was facing severe problems, including suicides by farmers.
Talking to newspersons here, he said the government instead of concentrating on burning issues, was planning to organise ''Mysooru Utsava'' during the last of July.
He alleged that the event was being organised to patch up the government's failure on various fronts and to gain political mileage for district incharge minister G T Deve Gowda.
On the proposed Rs 5500 crore thermal power project at Chamalapura, which attracted stiff opposition from various quarters, he said a decision in this regard should be taken only after studying the feasibility report and keeping in mind the Raichur thermal power plant.
