Rs 24.8 Cr Special grant sanctioned to Bijapur

Bijapur, Jun 20 (UNI) The Karnataka government has sanctioned a special grant of Rs 24.87 crore for Bijapur City Municipality for improving roads, drainage and drinking water supply, District Incharge Minister Appu Pattanashetty said today.

Talking to newsmen here, he said that of the special grant, Rs 10 Crore would be utilised for improvement of main roads in the city. The government has already released Rs One crore and the balance would be released in phased manner.

He said Rs 40 crore proposal to improve the city water supply system was under consideration by the government.

He said that for the first time, all steps had been taken to repair roads of the historic city and under Nirmal Nager Yojana the works to lift the garbage was implemented in 26 Wards.
