Omni Setu Data Centre of Janata Sahakari Bank awarded ISO 9001

Mumbai, Jun 20 (UNI) 'Omni Setu Data Centre', an ultramodern Core Banking Solution System of Janata Sahakari Bank Ltd, Pune, a leading bank in Co-operative Sector, has been awarded ISO 9001 and ISO 27001 certification.

Janata Sahakari Bank Ltd, Pune is the first&only bank in Co-Operative sector to earn these laurels.

Janata Sahakari Bank Chairman Arvind Khaladkar said the Bank has been providing computerised services for more than a decade.

Initially, though all the branches were computerised, they had branchwise local database and hence, the system lacked the crucial and effective control&monitoring by the head office.

To overcome this lacuna, the bank introduced Core Banking Solution System based on ultramodern technology through Omni Setu Data Centre.

Availibility of centralised Data Base at Data Centre has resulted into efficient&faster services to the customers, timely and accurate decision making and speedy loan recovery etc and thus the system has proved exceptionally beneficial. Services like Tele Banking, SMS Banking, Lobby Banking, One Window Concept, ATM, Payable At Par, etc. are now available to customers at every branch, he added.

With changing technology and necessity to provide customer-oriented services, a Core Banking Solution has become an inescapable necessity and thus 'Omni Setu Data Centre' was established. In this system, all the branches are connected to each other&also with Head Office and have an access to the data therein, facilitating all types of delivery channel services to the customers, Mr Khaladkar said.

Omni Setu Data Centre is first of its own kind in Co-op banking sector in India and is based on Linux - DB2 technology. It employees high capacity IBM servers, ultramodern technology, Optical Fibre based latest SAN storage, UPS system, Precision Air Conditioners and reliable generator back-up set. In short, it is a 'No Single Point Failure' Data Centre. The Bank has gone ahead with a novel idea of sharing this data centre with Dombivli Nagari Sahakari Bank and has forged the contract accordingly, which is also first of its own kind in India. In addition to this Data Centre, a Disaster Recovery Centre is installed at Indapur which is fully functional.
