New look for Karnataka Tourism Website

Bangalore, June 20 (UNI) Karnataka Tourism today unveiled its completely revamped website www.karnatakatourism.org with a lot of information on tourist attractions in the State.

Unveiling one of the site's unique features, Travel Diary, Tourism Minister B Sreeramulu announced prizes for best 'Travel Diary' entries to encourage visitors to pen their travel experiences to various destinations in the State and upload pictures of their journeys.

The Minister said the winners would be offered two or three-day holiday packages in a resort in Karnataka every month. ''A special photo competition would be organised for the best photographs and the winners would be announced on World Tourism Day,'' he added.

Tourism Secretary I M Vittalamurthy said, ''the site is comprehensive in terms of information and content. A lot of information has been added in this site, which now at about 96 MB in size, will be the largest tourism website in India. More features will be added to the site to make it more user-friendly.'' Tourism Commissioner G Kumar Naik said it was also proposed to have an e-newsletter, 'Karnataka's surge in Tourism, on a monthly basis as an extension of the website functions.
