Kabir Mutt mahant Swami Laldas dead

Basti, June 20 (UNI) Mahant Swami Laldas of Kabir Mutt in Mudhghat at the Basti district headquarters here, passed away today.

He was 65.

His cremation ceremony was performed by Mahant Vichardas of Maghar's Kabir Mutt as per the 'Kabirpanthi' rituals.

Besides, being a mahant, Swami Laldas was also associated with several social causes, including running a school and taking up causes of the visually challenged.

His efforts led to the setting up of several institutes in Basti, Sant Kabirnagar and Gorakhpur districts.
