Italian delegation in Mumbai to boost up bilateral trade

Mumbai, Jun 20 (UNI) A high-powered business delegation from Marche Region of Italy today met Indian business leaders at a conference jointly organized by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce&Industry (FICCI) with Union Camere, Marche; Confindustria, Marche; and Regione Marche of Italy.

The Italian delegation was led by Alberto Drudi, President of Union Camere of Marche, Italy, Marco Montagna, President, Confindustria Pesaro-Urbino and Federico Vitali, President of Confindustria, Marche.

Welcoming the businessmen from both the countries, Giueseppe Zaccagnino, Consul General of Italy, Erica Di Giovancarlo, Director, Italian Institute of Foreign Trade (ICE), Mumbai and Vittorio Mecozzi, Trade Commissioner of Italy in Mumbai, expressed their strong belief in Indo-Italian bilateral relations and the strong commitment of the two countries to forge stronger business ties with each other.

Earlier, the two sides had a Business-to-Business meeting in businesses relating to Machinery, Automobile, Forklift Truck, Batteries, Telecommunication, Energy, Industrial Refrigerators, Equipments for Restaurant and Hotel, Footwear, Real Estate, Power Safety Equipment, Engineering, Power, Construction of Gas Turbine, Steel, etc.

The field of activities, in which, leading Italian companies from Marche Region sought investment and joint venture opportunities included furniture, mechanical and automotive engineering, civil buildings, processing machinery, equipments for hotels and restaurants, and leather sector.

On the occasion, Sergio Sgambato, Secretary General, Camera di Commercio, Indo-Italiana, Mumbai, Roney Simon, Director, FICCI, Italy, Malcolm D'Souza, Marketing Manager, Cargo Alitalia, Domitilla Pozzi, Dy. Representative, Monte Paschi, Mumbai and Mr Fabio Lucheroni, Representative of Bank of Rome, Mumbai highlighted the current status of India's economy, investment opportunities, and their experiences in India in logistics, banking and financial sectors.
