High Court admits appeal by Prasara Bharati against CAT

Bangalore, June 20 (UNI) The Karnataka High Court today declined to grant an interim order of stay on transfer of Bangalore Doordarshan Senior Director Mahesh Joshi to Chennai.

Admitting an appeal filed by the Prasara Bharati and others challenging the order of the Central Administrative Tribunal in quashing the order, Chief Justice Mr Cyriac Joseph and Justice Abdul Nazeer declining the stay directed the matter to be posted as soon as all the respondents were served with notices.

The CAT had allowed the application filed by Mr Mahesh Joshi challenging his transfer order to Chennai Kendra on Administrative grounds for the reason that the post of Director of Chennai Kendra would fall vacant as the Director of that Kendra had suffered a heart attack and had applied leave upto the end of December 2006.
