Gujarat CID to approach SC for narco test on fake encounter accused
Udaipur, June 20 (UNI) Geetha Johari, Inspector General of Police(CID) investigating the Sohrabuddin Sheikh fake encounter case said the agency would approach the Supreme Court for permission to conduct narco-analysis on six accused in the case.
The plea of CID was rejected by an Ahmedabad court on June 14, seeking permission to conduct narco-analysis and brain mapping on six accused police personnel, including IPS officials DG Vanzara, Rajkumar Pandian and Dinesh M N.
The IG (CID) today met Udaipur IG Rajiv Dasoth and Udaipur District Superintendent of Police Dinesh Gupta and urged them to arrest three Rajasthan police officials -- Abdul Rehman, Himanshu Singh and Shyam Singh -- who were involved in the shootout and evading arrest since former Udaipur SP Dinesh M N was nabbed.
Ms Johari, while speaking to reporters briefly, said a probe was on to ascertain on whose orders did the police officials go to the encounter site. She urged the local police to arrest the absconding police officials or ask them to surrender.
