Government to seek legal opinion of Governor's move-Kataria

Jaipur, June 20 (UNI) The Rajasthan Government has decided to seek legal opinion from experts on situation following Governor Pratibha Patil's move of referring the Rajasthan Religious Freedom Bill 2006 to President APJ Abdul Kalam.

Home Minister Gulab Chand Kataria told reporters here today that the state government would explore options available to it following the governor's move.

Mr Kataria said the state government was not aware of the governor's decision in this regard. ''The Raj Bhawan should have informed us'', the home minister said.

The controversial bill was pending with the Governor for over a year after the state assembly had passed it on April 6 last year.
