Former Arunachal minister dies
Itanagar, June 20 (UNI) Former Information and Public Relation(IPR) Minister Rima Taipodia, who had been suffering from cancer for some time now, passed away at his Likabali residence last evening.
He was 61 and is survived by his wife, two sons and three daughters, family sources informed, adding that his last rites would be performed at Likabali tomorrow.
A resident of Rite village, Taipodia was associated with many socio-political organisations and was first elected to the assembly in March, 1990 and in October 1999 for the second term. Besides serving as member of various house committees, he served as minister of state for home, finance; besides IPR and Printing Minister.
Chief Minister Dorjee Khandu, described his untimely death as a great loss for the state.
Mr Khandu conveyed his condolence to the bereaved family and prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul, according to commissioner K D Singh.
