Five quintals of poppy husk seized

Kapurthala, June 20 (UNI) Sultanpurlohdi police recovered about five quintals of poppy husk during raids at various places in an ongoing anti-narcotic smuggling drive in the district.

However, only one person could be arrested while other ten persons involved in dealing with the contraband managed to escape abandoning the consignments before the arrival of the police parties.

Police has identified and booked all the ten accused in cases under the NDPS act.

Police parties have been dispatched to track down and arrest them.
