e-gambling: Cash cards seized in MP

Sagar, MP, June 20 (UNI) Cash cards worth Rs 18 lakh -- that would have been used for e-gambling through online lotteries -- have been seized during a police raid at a shop in this district headquarters.

The action took place this week. Lottery is banned in this state.

Cyber cash cards ranging from Rs 100 to Rs 10,000 are available in the market. ''Action was taken, under the Anti-Gambling Act, against the accused,'' Superintendent of Police Shahid Awsar told UNI.

''If the need arises, action will be ensured under IT laws,'' Mr M P Dwivedi, who is part of the Madhya Pradesh Police's anti-cybercrime efforts, told UNI
