DGMS Lt Gen Mukherjee visits Western Command Hospital
Chandigarh, Jun 20 (UNI) Director General Medical Services (Army) Lt Gen Saibal Mukherjee visited the Western Command Hospital at Chandimandir today.
During his visit, Gen Mukherjee was briefed by Maj Gen V P Pathania, Commandant, Command Hospital, Western Command.
The Director General Medical Services (DGMS) appreciated the functioning of the hospital and the progress it had made in its administration and management.
Appreciating the facilities available in the hospital, he said that the Western Command Hospital was one of the best hospitals being run by the armed forces and it could easily be compared to any of the corporate hospitals of the country.
The DGMS also interacted with the patients to get a first hand account of their problems and also to know their opinion about the services being provided to them.
He called upon the doctors and the para-medical staff of the hospital to put in their best efforts towards patient care.
Lt Gen Mukherjee is a renowned radiation oncologist from the prestigious Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai. A pioneer in the field of cancer treatment in the armed forces, he has worked in the Malignant Diseases Treatment Centres at Pune and at New Delhi.
