Cabinet approves rules to deal with cyber crimes
Thiruvananthapuram, June 20 (UNI) The Kerala government today approved the rules framed under the IT Act, 2000 to deal with cyber crimes.
Talking to newspersons here after a Cabinet meeting, Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan said as per the rules, the police could register cases and book persons involved in cyber crimes.
The Cabinet decided to provide three per cent reservation to physically handicapped in Class-I and Class-II posts appointments.
It also decided to appoint a Consultant for upgrading the Alappuzha port into a cargo and marina port.
Mr Achuthanandan said the posts of Inspector-General, south and north zones, would be upgraded into posts of Additional Director-General of Police. Similarly, the posts of Deputy Inspector-General in Thiruvananthapuram, Kochi, Thrissur and Kannur would be upgraded into posts of Inspector-General.
Two weeks' free ration to people displaced by sea erosion and an assistance of Rs 50,000 to the family of Santosh of Neyyattinkara, who died after falling from a running train during a ticket checking, were the other decisions of the Cabinet.
