Bundelkhand University VC dismissal set aside

Allahabad, June 20 (UNI) Allahabad High Court today scrapped the dismissal order of Bundelkhand University, Jhansi Vice Chancellor (VC) Ramesh Chandra.

Setting aside the order, a division Bench comprising Justices B S Chauhan and Rajesh Kumar observed that the principles of natural justice were not followed in his dismissal order of July 16, 2005.

The petitioner's counsel contended that the VC was not served with any chargesheet nor was given an opportunity to defend himself.

Mr Chandra was charged with violating the provision of the University Act and working against the interests of the varsity.

The bench noted that no one could not be held guity without a probe under relevant rules.
