ASI commits suicide in city

Chandigarh, June 20 (UNI) An Assistant Sub-Inspector of Chandigarh Police today allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself with his service revolver at his residence in Sector 42 in the city this morning.

Police said the ASI Sarwan Singh shot himself in the head and was immediately rushed to the PGI where he was declared brought dead.

Police have started inquest proceedings under section 174 CrPc.
